Detailed description of the couple (likely to contain spoilers)When Luz finds out that there’s a magic school on the Boiling Isles, she goes looking for it and comes across Amity making fun of Willow for struggling with abomination magic. She is the top student in her class and very skilled at creating abominations (sort of magical purple goo golems). Once Amity leaves, Luz befriends Willow and offers to cover herself in purple goo and pretend to be her abomination for class. When the abomination teacher is very impressed by Willow’s fake abomination, he proclaims her the top student rather than Amity. Amity becomes suspicious and discovers that Luz is a human and not an abomination. She holds a grudge against Luz for this and for later encounters between them, but Luz is intent on making Amity like her. Amity starts to admire Luz’s constant enthusiasm. When Amity accidentally burns all of Willow’s memories, she and Luz have to travel inside her mind to restore them. It is revealed that Willow and Amity used to be close friends, and Amity apologizes for turning on her at her parents’ insistence. Amity becomes part of their friend group, and Luz offers to take her place when she is devastated at being chosen as Grom queen. Luz tries to fight Grom but ends up running from the school with it chasing after her. When Amity arrives she tries to help but Grom turns into a shadowy silhouette of Luz which takes her note and rips it in half—a note asking Luz to go to Grom with her. Luz realizes that Amity’s fear is being rejected by someone, and offers to be her Grom date instead. They dance and defeat Grom together, after which Amity becomes extremely flustered around Luz. After growing closer over the course of more adventures, Luz realizes she wants to ask out Amity and Hooty tries to help. Hooty ends up putting Amity and Luz in the basement of the Owl House, where he has set up a boat ride with elaborate romantic decorations. Luz thinks that it’s embarrassing and Amity is too cool for it, and so tries to tear down everything. Amity is upset until Luz explains what happens and they ask each other out. As girlfriends they bond more over the rest of the show and Amity gets to spend time at Luz’s house in the human realm and meet Luz’s mom.
